Day 1: Welcome to Barcelona
Upon your arrival at Barcelona airport, a private driver will transport you to your hotel. In the afternoon, explore the city exploration with an expert guide and driver. Discover the gems of this beautiful capital city Catalonia. With an old history heritage, here you will find monuments of Romanesque, Gothic and Renaissance periods. From the legendary modernist architecture legacy by Antoni Gaudí to the spectacular coastline that opens the city to the Mediterranean, Barcelona a leader in leisure and cuisine seduces the visitor in numerous ways. Strolling around the streets will bring surprises at every turn.
Day 2: Treasures of Barcelona
Your private driver guide will show you more highlights of Barcelona. A highlight today is the Sagrada Familia (Cathedral of the Holy Family) whose construction began more than 135 years ago and is expected to be completed in 2026. This magnificent work is the of genius architect Antoni Gaudí. You’ll stroll the historic center where you can visit La Boqueria, a large public market where you might have a hard time choosing from an array of tempting Spanish delicacies for lunch. Continue in the afternoon visiting the Picasso Museum, very rich in regard to work from the formative years in the life of the artist.
Day 3: Tarragona and Country Hotel
A guided day trip to discover the south coast of Catalonia stopping by a boutique winery in the historical city of Tarragona for a tasting. On the shores of the Mediterranean, Tarragona is a fascinating mix of Mediterranean beach life, Roman history and medieval alleyways. Then you’re back on the road, on your way to a 220-acre estate along the River Tastavins that dates to the early 15th century. This lovely boutique hotel, organic farm and romantic gardens with swimming pool will be your sanctuary for the next two nights.
Day 4: Hiking or Horse Back Riding
Today is at your leisure to partake one (or more) of the many activities nearby. Ride into the beautiful countryside on horseback or explore the estate on bicycle. Reinvigorate body and mind with walking tours in the Matarranya – one of Spain’s last undiscovered gems. Get intimate with the region’s native birds, including eagles, hoopoes, vultures, bee-eaters and kingfishers. You’ll capture incredible images with the help of an expert guide with extensive knowledge of the native flor and fauna.
Day 5: Basque Country
You’re on your way to San Sebastian today, known for Michelin Star restaurants and marvelous cuisine. On the way, your first stop is in Zaragoza where you will enjoy a stroll through the city center and visit the Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar. Then, continue to city of Pamplona where the most famous “running of the bulls” festival takes place every year in July. After exploring Pamplona, continue to the lovely Atlantic beach town of San Sebastian.
Day 6: San Sebastian
San Sebastian is a charming and romantic city. Concha Bay is its most iconic site with a big promenade along the sea where locals and tourists go to enjoy the beautiful view. Put on your walking shoes and explore this charming and romantic city. Head down to Zurriola Beach to take a surf class or simply watch the surfers riding the waves. Ask us about taking a pintxo cooking class. A pintxo is Basque Country’s more elaborate take on tapas which are small, savory snack. Or skip the class and just head to a local pintxos and wine bar to enjoy this unique gastronomic tradition. In the evening, head over to the oceanfront promenade for dinner or we can arrange a Michelin Star dinner in one of the most important restaurants.
Day 7: Bilbao to Oviedo
On the way to your destination today, you will stop at the magnificent city of Bilbao to enjoy a tour with your expert guide of the Guggenheim Museum. Designed by Canadian American architect Frank Gehry, the building represents a magnificent example of the most groundbreaking 20th-century architecture and houses incredible collection of modern and contemporary art.
Continue your way through the Cantabrian Coast, making a stop in the small, beautiful town of Santillana Del Mar with an outstanding collegiate church. The remaining drive along the coast is quite lovely as you make your way to Oviedo, the capital of the Asturias region.
Day 8: Oviedo
You will have a full morning to enjoy the medieval flavor in the “Old Oviedo” historic quarter, where you can admire grand, lovingly restored administrative and religious buildings that render the city among the most attractive in the north. Oviedo also boasts three 9th century churches that rank among the most remarkable in Spain. Throughout the city, there are excellent bars and friendly sidrerías (bars specialized in cider) where you can grab a bite to eat before commencing on your trip private driver to Galicia’s Capital Santiago de Compostela.
Day 9: Santiago de Compostela
Your day will commence with your private guide, exploring this city known as the destination of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route. The afternoon will be free for you to continue exploring the city’s treasures on your own. Declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1985, we recommend a visit to the majestic Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela itself and to the rest of the complex which comprises a museum, excavations, the Portico de la Gloria and the Corticela Chapel. A stroll on the old town can’t be missed, where you will have the opportunity to experience the local gastronomy and get a true feeling of the city with its convents, churches, palaces and museums.
Day 10: End of Northern Spain Tour
